Sorry I've been MIA around here - I've been Super Busy as of late. Spring Cleaning, Ebay Auctions (can you believe someone bought a "lot" of 14 STAINED Carhartt shirts for $62.49??), and of course the kids started back to swimming - so that's been an awful lot of back and forth taxi driving.
Madison's music concert was 2 weeks ago, and she did SO GOOD! In addition to singing all the other songs, she had a part of a dancing chef, and she also had a solo on one of the other songs. I was SO proud of her, she did GREAT!

"Good Morning, Mama. I stuck."
Caden is really big into getting himself dressed (and undressed) right now. Over the weekend, I went in to get him up from his afternoon nap to find that he'd undressed himself and tried to put on his Build-A-Bears shirt. He looks at me and says "Good Morning, Mama. I stuck!", and rather than help him I just had to grab the camera first.

Strawberry Shortcake!
Mmmmmmm.... this has got to be one of the best desserts ever. Strawberries were recently on sale (2 for $5, not bad!), and the sweet aroma stopped me in my tracks as I walked into the store. I love the smell of fresh strawberries.
Now, I'm very particular about how my strawberry shortcakes are made. I absolutely will not buy that weird gel that they sell near the strawberries... I personally think that stuff tastes like strawberry flavored petroleum jelly. ew.
I stick by the method that my stepmom (Hi Suzette!) taught me years ago, it's simple, fast, and best of all, GOOD!
Ok, so you get a nice looking batch of fresh strawberries:
Slice them up, and coat generously with sugar. Don't forget to stir them up:
Cover and refridgerate for at least 2 hours. See how nice and syrupy they get?
And, Voila! Strawberry shortcake!
These critics approve. I'm sure yours will too!

A girl and her dog...
One afternoon last week, I was scrubbing my bathroom floor playing on my computer, and looked up to this adorable sight. Madison was practicing lines for a solo that she tried out for (found out yesterday that she got it!) for her Spring Concert. Sam the lazy Labrador played her part of a fluffy pillow rather well.

It's a bird.... It's a plane....
No! It's.....
SUPER CADEN!!!!
LOL... I was messing around on the computer tonight and all of a sudden Caden went running by my office door doing his pretend flying thing with his arms stretched out. Now, usually when he does this he has one of his blankets tied around his neck. This time though, he'd put his new Superman underoos (brought by the Easter Bunny) on over his clothes... I asked the little superhero to pause long enough for me to take a picture and he favored me with some very hero like poses.
